Why LOL Exists
I don't stand before you as someone who has life figured out. I stand before you as someone who has learned the value of slowing down long enough to reflect on life while I'm living it. Reflection has become one of the most transformative practices in my own life. Living Out Loud was born from that practice, and today I simply have the privilege of inviting others into it.
Living Out Loud (LOL) was born during seasons when life felt heavy and support felt limited. Over the years in education and leadership, I experienced burnout, personal hardship, shifting roles, and the quiet pressure to keep showing up without a clear place to process what was happening.
Over time, I began to recognize a pattern. Whenever life became difficult, I found myself returning to the same practice: slowing down, reflecting honestly, seeking God, gaining clarity, and allowing trusted community to reinforce the journey. Looking back, I realized I wasn't simply getting through hard seasons. I was developing a reflective way of navigating life. I just didn't have a name for it yet. Eventually, I realized I had been living the philosophy long before I ever named it. That philosophy became Living Out Loud.
